How To Test Golf Cart Batteries Under Load. In a golf cart, numbers are indicated behind this value. The machine will tell you a number, in minutes, of how long the golf cart could run under a typical load of this level before 75% depth of discharge is achieved.
This rating is commonly used on golf cart batteries. An electric cart will have 4, 6 or 8 golf cart batteries. Connect a digital voltmeter to the pack by pushing the pedal to the floor as much as possible.
This is done by using a circuit that puts a load on the batteries while you measure voltage drop.
To determine the load current, read the label on the side of the agm battery. Use a voltmeter, set on dcv or load tester to check each battery. When load testing remove all battery cables from their terminals. Use the discharge testing method.
